If you could tell soon-to-be new parents just one thing about what items they need for their baby, what would that be?
Start small and select an assortment of tiny sizes. Babies grow so quickly; only buy your favorites! It’s joyous to shop for your new little love, so hunt and gather slowly . . . it's way more fun!
What do you think should be on every parent’s list for must-have baby gear?
Two things — the first is a great baby carrier, which is essential for both mom and dad. The option of "hands free" is critical with a newborn. Buy a brand name you trust, as this is one support I could not live without. The second is a well-designed, fashionable diaper bag. Invest in a bag you'll use every day that suits your personal style and functions. Keep it packed with extras for your everyday outings.
What kind of furniture should parents invest in?
An oh-so-cozy place to relax in your nursery. My nursery was designed with both a large comfortable sofa and a heirloom rocking chair. This simple design decision allowed a place to rest day or night. Your nursery should be an extension of the rest of your home. Continue the overall color palette established while buying your crib, changing table, other furniture, and decor.
What is the one piece of advice you’d give new parents who are overwhelmed by all the “stuff” they have to get for a new baby?
Buy it as you need it. The stuff can get overwhelming and feel more like clutter. Chat with your friends who have children just a tad older than yours. This way you can glean first-hand information. See if their experience fits your needs as a new parent.
What are your favorite infant pieces from your collection?
Always hard to just select a few! I am loving our two-pack (always needed) onesies for girls. They are all-cotton, whimsical, and easy for dressing your baby. You can layer or wear alone with bare, chubby legs, of course! (Pair it with our newest AC edition for a "welcome little one" gift, or select your favorite from the entire AC plush collection.)
Right now, my favorite is the asymmetrical, geo-printed, super-soft, take me home set for baby. I adore the hat and coordinating bib. A perfect solution for his special day!
